Elementary Teacher & Varsity Football Head Coach
Each teacher at Heritage has their own unique personality that makes students want to be more involved in the classroom, allowing teachers to make school fun and engaging. Elementary Teacher, Kyle Ray, is one of these teachers. Even though this is his first year teaching at Heritage, he has a positive energy and desire to connect with his students that will make him a great addition to theHeritage community.
After graduating Franklin College, majoring in Public Relations and Broadcast Journalism, his passion to teach became evident while on a missions trip, working at a camp for underprivileged children. "It was an amazing experience!" he says, "I learned how much of an impact I could have on kids by simply being there, investing time with them and loving on them. I knew I had to go back to school to get my teaching degree!"
The ability to disciple students and integrate God in everything we do is something that really excites me!
Once he got his teaching degree from Taylor University, he began his career by teaching at Pleasant Crossing Elementary in Whiteland, Indiana. He says that his new role at Heritage, being able to embrace the opportunity to teach students as well as helping them grow in their faith, makes him feel eager to start teaching. "The ability to disciple students and integrate God in everything we do is something that really excites me!" he states. He is hoping to integrate several personal customs, including Bowtie Wednesday, where his students wear bowties and bows to feel "classy," as well as coming up with nicknames for all his students and playing with the kids at recess.
But his impact won't end in the classroom, as Ray is also the new Head Coach of the boys varsity football team. Make sure to come out to a game to cheer him and his team on!
