Intermediate Choir
5th graders meet for choir on Monday and Wednesday from 2:30-3:05. 6th graders meet for choir on Tuesday and Thursday. The Heritage Christian Intermediate Choir is comprised of more than 120 singers.
The Intermediate choir performs many different types of repertoire including traditional choral literature, and contemporary Christian pieces. An introduction to basic note and rhythm reading is also included. Select students work together to form the choir’s instrumental group. Students prepare for concerts in December and May. In addition to concert performance, choir members have the optional opportunity to participate in ISSMA District Solo & Ensemble Contest
Middle School Choir
The Heritage Christian Middle School Choir is comprised of 76 7th-8th grade singers. Students prepare for concerts in December and May. In addition to concert performance, choir members have the option to participate in ISSMA District Solo & Ensemble Contest.
This choir also participates in a variety of festivals and competitions during 2nd semester: ISSMA Middle School Group Contest, IMEA Festivals, MIC Choir Invitational at North Central, Music in the Parks at Kings Island.
In 2007, the Middle School Choir enjoyed the prestigious honor of being invited to perform at the Indiana Music Educators Association State Convention.
High School - Colla Vocé
Colla Vocé is one of Indiana’s finest high school concert repertoire choirs, with a focus on glorifying Christ through song, which has been displayed to audiences around the country. All members of this group are chosen by audition and all high school grades are represented.
Along with school concerts in December, March and May, Colla Vocé has an active competition schedule during 2nd semester that include competitions at Ben Davis, North Central, and Lawrence Central. Colla Vocé has represented HCS the past 6 years at the ISSMA State Choir Finals, which showcase the top sixteen choirs in the State. Colla Vocé was named STATE RUNNER-UP in 2010. Colla Vocé has performed in the past for the Life Center’s Celebration of Life Banquets, and in doing so has performed with artists Carmen D’Arcy, Sandi Patty, and Miss America 2009, Katie Stam. Colla Voce’ has represented Heritage on tours to Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Nashville and St. Louis.
Colla Vocé had 10 members selected for 2011 IMEA All-State Choir. Colla Vocé was given a special invitation to perform at Butler University’s Clowes Hall in 2010, and the ensemble has been invited to perform at the 2012 IMEA State Music Convention in Ft. Wayne.
High School - Encore
Encore is a non-auditioned mixed ensemble that is open to all Heritage Christian High School students. Encore performs a wide variety of literature which includes Contemporary Christian, Jazz, Broadway and Pop music as well as some classical and traditional choral literature.
In addition to performing three choral concerts each year, Encore members participate in ISSMA District and State Solo and Ensemble Contests. They also participate in competitions 2nd semestser that include Lawrence Central Sound Classic, ISSMA Group Contest, and Heritage Festival Music Competition.
High School Praise & Worship Team
The Praise & Worship Team prepares music that uplifts the students and glorifies the Lord during HS Chapel. Praise & Worship team members are selected by audition and interview.
The Praise and Worship Team toured with the High School Choir to St. Louis in 2011. The Praise and Worship Team performed and accompanied the HCS choir during worship services at The Rock Church of St. Louis.
The Praise and Worship Team emphasizes performing and ministering to the student body for the glory of the Lord by creating and atmosphere of unified worship through song. In addition to preparing for both High School and Middle School Chapels, the praise team regularly accompanies the HCS choirs and performs at all choir concerts.
HCS Morning Ensemble
HCS Morning Ensembles are comprised of over 40 students and are open to all 7th -12th grade students. Students do not need to be enrolled in a choir to participate in a Morning Ensemble. The Morning Ensemble meets together every Tuesday and Friday Morning.
The Morning Ensemble participates at all Heritage Choral concerts and performs for various community events where a small ensemble is asked and needed. Besides performing at all HCS choir concerts, the Morning Ensemble also has performed at Worthy Servants Brunch, and at the Kings Island “Music in the Parks” choir competition.

The Praise Team prepares music that uplifts the students and glorifies the Lord during Chapel. They also perform at choir concerts in December and May. Praise & Worship team members are selected after audition and interview.
