BLOGirls
Club Leader: Mrs. Carlson
Grades: 5th and 6th Grade Girls
Date/Time: April 12 - May 10th on Mondays from 3:00 to 4:00PM
Location: Mrs. Carlson's Room (I204)
Description: Students will be able to create a blog in a safe environment that will be monitored and easily accessed by teacher and parents. Students will learn how to create their own site about themselves with what they are learning, creating and sharing with friends.


Book Club
Club Leader: Mrs. Furnish
Grades: 7th and 8th Grade Girls
Date/Time: November 23rd - January 26th on Tuesdays from 3:15 to 4:00PM
Location: Mrs. Furnish's Room
Description: In the series "Diary of a Teenage Girl" Caitlin O' Conner survies a challenging homelife, changing friends, school pressures, an identity crisis and uncertainties of true love. Through heartaches and finding God, Caitlin discovers who she really is.
Additional Cost: $5.00 for book

Breakfast Club

Grades: 7th and 8th Graders
Date/Time: The last Friday of each month starting in January.
Location: Mrs. Worline's Room (M3)
Description: Starting off the day right with a good breakfast and fellowship with classmates.


Carpetball
Club Leader: Mr. Wesner
Grades: 6th - 8th Graders
Date/Time: January 7th - March 11th every Thursday from 3:00 to 3:30PM.
Location: Intermediate/Middle School Breezeway
Description: Carpetball Club will be a weekly opportunity for students to compete in the thrilling game of carpetball. A tournament will be held and prizes awarded.


Electronics Inside Out
Club Leader: Mrs. Rosebrock
Grades: 6th - 8th Graders
Date/Time: Mondays and Fridays at 7:00AM starting November 30th and ending after 3rd quarter.
Location: Mrs. Rosebrock's Room (H15)
Description: Taking apart electronics and identifying circuit components.
Limit: 12 members


Enjoy Sports Now
Club Leader: Mr. Burdine
Grades: 5th and 6th Graders
Date/Time: Wednesdays from 3:00 to 3:30PM
Location: Mr. Burdine's Room (I103)
Description: For boys or girls who have an interest in sports or a desire to learn more about them. An informational, educational, and enjoyable way to follow both college and professional sports. The members will learn how to read and understand statistics, rules and follow/discuss current games and events.
Additional Cost: Possible if we attend any games as a club.


Exotic Food Club
Club Leader: Mr. Nelson
Grades: 7th and 8th Students
Date/Time: Twice a month after school, starting the week of November 30th.
Location: Mr. Nelson's Room
Description: We will research different cultures and then experience their foods by eating at their restaurants and attending their festivities and/or festivals. Students will design and receive a club t-shirt.
Additional Cost: Cost of the meals.


Games Galore
Club Leader: Miss Kessler
Grades: 5th and 6th Graders
Date/Time: January 11th - March 5th on Mondays from 3:00 to 3:30PM.
Location: Miss Kessler's Room (I204)
Description: Students will play a variety of games including trivia, board, interactive, card and many more games! Games wil be played in both large and small group settings. This time together will serve as a time of fellowship where kids can relax and unwind while having fun with peers.


GIRLS 5 Club (Growing In Relationship of Love and Scripture)
Club Leader: Mrs. Furnish
Grades: 5th Grade Girls
Date/Time: Fridays from 3:15 to 4:00PM starting December 4th (8 weeks).
Location: MS Classroom
Description: We will begin by discussing a scripture for the week and discussing how that scripture applies to our lives. We will spend time building relationships, playing games and talking about mattres of the heart (popcorn and pillows included)!
Limit: 12 members


Hike and Bike
Club Leader: Mr. Stroup
Grades: 5th and 8th Graders
Date/Time: A weekend in January, February, March and April when weather cooperates
Location: Start at school and go to Ft. Harrison, Shades and other nature spots.
Description: This is an opportunity to get outside and enjoy God's beautiful Creation here in Indiana. The hike and bike club will take advantage of some nice weather to explore a couple of the great state parks located in central Indiana. There will be up to 3 hikes culminating in an end of the winter bike ride. All weather permitting.
Additional Cost: Meal money

International Club
Club Leader: Miss Reynolds
Grades: 5th - 6th Graders
Date/Time: January 25th - March 5th on Mondays from 3:00 to 3:30PM
Location: Miss Reynolds Room
Description: To further our knowledge in other nations and cultures, we will each be assigned to an international pen-pal, ages 10-12. We will also learn songs, play games, make crafts, and enjoy some international cuisine!


Math Counts
Club Leader: Miss Bowden
Grades: 7th and 8th Graders
Date/Time: 11/12 - February on Wednesdays
Location: Miss Bowden's Room (M6)
Description: The MathCounts Program is designed as an extracurricular activity to provide students with the opportunity to further develop their mathematical skills beyond the boundaries of the normal classroom, the chance to see how mathematics is used in the real world and in problem solving situations, and the opportunity for recognition in the area of mathematical achievements through competition between schools.


Photography Club
Club Leader: Mrs. Zamora
Grades: 7th and 8th Graders
Date/Time: Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30PM
Location: IS/MS Aides Room
Description: Come spend six weeks learning! Bring your point and shoot camera or DSLR AND your camera's user manual. For six weeks we will learn about composition, portrait photography, sports photography, macro photography, and flash photography. Classes are not designed to teach you how to use your camera - that's what the user manual is for. After the first class we will review the top two images from each student (from the previous class), discuss the topic for the day, and take a group excursion around the campus to capture the moment.
Limit: 15 members


Rock Climbing
Club Leader: Mr. Sneller
Grades: 7th and 8th
Date/Time: We’ll go as a group on Saturday afternoons, from 1:30-3:00.

Description:The club will discuss the basics of rock-climbing (safety and strategies) and then attend Climb Time Indy. The club will meet 4 weeks, beginning in March.
Cost: $35.00 per climber (gear included).

Run for Fitness Club
Club Leader: Mr. Benedict
Grades: 5th and 6th Graders
Dates: March 8, 15, 22 and on April 12, 19 and 26.
Time: Six (6) Mondays from 3:00 to 3:45PM
Location: Meet in Mr. Benedict's Room
Pick up: East Intermediate school door at 3:50pm.
Description: We will be learning how to do pre-run stretching and the basics of running distance. Our emphasis will be personal improvement (which we will track on individual charts) as well as having fun and getting to know one another.
Limit: 15 members



SafeSitters: The Babysitters Club
Club Leader: Mrs. Heffelfinger
Grades: 6th - 8th Grade Girls
Date/Time: January 12th
Location: HCS
Description: Babysitting is an important job. You need life and safety skills to take care of and protect children. Safe Sitters can teach you so you will know what to do.
Additional Cost: $15.00
Limit: 20 members



Young Authors
Club Leader: Mrs. Armiger
Grades: 5th and 6th Graders
Date/Time: January 20th - March 16th on Tuesdays from 3:00 to 3:30PM
Location: Mrs. Armiger's Room
Description: Club members will write their own original books. Mrs. Armiger will lead them through the process beginning with an "idea" and ending with a finished "book." Members will read their books to one another after they are completed.
Additional Cost: $5.00 for hard-bound book
