Half Day and Full Day Options

In order to make the preschool program accessible for all parents and children who are interested in enrolling, the school structures half day classes (formerly regular day) from 8:00am to 12:00pm and full day classes (formerly extended day) from 8:00am to 2:40pm depending on parents' needs from year to year.

Typical Schedule

Students may arrive between 7:40 and 8:00am, and the day begins with free exploration in centers. The day progresses with whole-group meeting time, recess, teacher-directed center time, read alouds, Bible lessons, lunch, recess, and specials. Half-day students dismiss at 12:00pm. Full day students have rest time, snack time, enrichment activities, and story time. Dismissal is at 2:40pm.

Lunch

Children can bring their lunch or order a hot or cold lunch from the cafeteria for $3.95 per day which includes milk or water. Lunch will be taken into the classroom.

Snack

Full Day preschoolers are asked to bring a healthy fruit break snack for the classroom. Examples of what to bring include fresh fruits and veggies, crackers, cheese. (No gummy bears or fruit roll-ups.) Snacks will be eaten in the afternoon.

Rest Time

We have rest time for children who stay for full day preschool. Children are invited to rest for 1-1.5 hours. Children are encouraged to bring a blanket or snuggly from home. Rest time mats are to be purchased from Heritage.

Parents Volunteering in the Classroom

Parents may walk their children into the classroom for the first week of school. After that, teachers need about a month to establish routines before introducing helpers into the classroom (unless a birthday occurs, in which case the parents are invited to attend). Parents must go through a volunteer process online, and then the teacher will invite volunteers on an as needed basis.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences are held in October and April, but parents are encouraged to connect with teachers anytime throughout the year.
