6th Grade Aide
Join us in welcoming 6th Grade Aide Carli Nelson to the Heritage family for the 2019-20 school year. Carli worked as a 5th grade substitute teacher last school year, so she is eager to work with the same bunch of students this year in a more intensive role.
Carli first heard about Heritage through a Google search last January, after moving to Indiana and seeking a substitute teaching job at a Christian school. Having grown up attending public school, Carli understands how unique and special the Heritage community is. She has felt so blessed to be a part of the Heritage family.
“I’m not treated as a number, but as a name,” she said. “I can tell that the Lord is doing huge things in this place and it gets me excited to see how this school year will be!”
Carli received a degree in Recreation Management from Hannibal-LaGrange University in Missouri. She has worked with children in a variety of settings and states, including as a camp counselor in Texas (where she met her husband), a substitute teacher in Missouri, and an Infant Teacher at a local church in Mississippi. Most recently, she was in Memphis, TN before moving to Indianapolis.
When she’s not working, Carli enjoys running, camping, kayaking, watching sports, and spending time with her husband and their families.
