Casey Simmons - Intermediate Spanish Teacher

Casey Simmons

Intermediate Spanish Teacher

Say hello to Casey Simmons, our new intermediate Spanish teacher!

Casey graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in Spanish. She also has lots of experience working on the middle school ministry staff at her church, and she has been a private tutor and a middle school Spanish teacher at another Christian school

Although Casey is a new teacher, she isn’t new to Heritage. As a child, she attended here from prep-k through second grade, and other family members attended as well. For parents of Heritage students, Casey hopes they recognize what a special place the school is. “It is a community where their kids will be loved, known, and mentored by the teachers and staff,” she explained. “It feels like a big family.”

Casey believes that faith has a unique place in language lessons, so she looks for creative ways to emphasize students’ relationships with Christ. “I try to interweave God’s truths into the lessons. We are learning a Bible verse in Spanish that has the gospel in it,” she said. “We talk about learning Spanish so we can share Him with more people.”

When she isn’t teaching, Casey likes to work out and spend time with her family. You might be surprised to learn that she has been on—not one—but two game shows on TV! If you get a chance, ask her about her experience. We’re thrilled to have her here as a teacher!
