Lesley Barker
5th Grade Teacher
Meet Lesley Barker, our 5th grade history and science teacher at Heritage Christian School!
Coming from a family of educators, Lesley always knew she wanted to follow the same path, and her own experience in Christian education prepared her well to teach at Heritage. Growing up, Lesley attended a K-12 school similar to HCS and then went to college at a Christian school in Arkansas. There, Lesley received her Bachelors of Science in Elementary and Special Education and her Masters in Reading.
Lesley’s relationship with Christ influences every part of her life. “Everything I do is laced with my faith. So many of my day-to-day activities and how I approach decisions in my life are bathed in prayer and study. This is the focus of my classroom, daily life, and family life,” Lesley said. She aims to mentor and uplift her students in times of struggle and to celebrate with them in times of joy. Her classroom is a fun and engaging environment where the Bible is incorporated into each topic.
Originally from the south, anything that makes Lesley feel at home is the way to her heart. She loves to read, tackle DIY projects, and take beach vacations. Lesley also has children on campus here at Heritage.
