Lisa Morton
High School Math Teacher
Lisa Morton is a high school math teacher at Heritage Christian School. With both of her parents being teachers, Lisa knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a career in education. She and her twin sister, LeAnn, who also teaches math at Heritage, spent their childhood playing school in their attic with their mom’s extra worksheets and old papers.
Lisa double-majored in Math Education and Business Administration at Grace College. She also gained valuable experience working as a camp counselor and director at Camp Michindoh in Hillsdale, MI.
Before joining Heritage, Lisa taught at Westlake Christian Academy in Illinois, where she had her first exposure to Heritage through ACSI conferences. Eventually, she moved to Indianapolis to begin teaching at Heritage Christian School.
Lisa loves getting to know her students and watching them grow in confidence throughout the school year. Understanding that math can be challenging, she encourages her students to embrace mistakes as part of the learning process. She also values the camaraderie among her fellow math teachers, appreciating the supportive environment they create.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys reading, cooking, doing yard work, and spending time with her family.
