Michelle Myers

High School Art Teacher

We’re excited to welcome art teacher Michelle Myers back to the Heritage community! Michelle taught elementary, intermediate, and middle school art at Heritage from 2004-2017 and has now returned to teach high school art.

Michelle Myers High School Art Teacher

Michelle earned a BA in Art Therapy and an MS in Management at Indiana Wesleyan University. After holding several office jobs, she realized she’d rather pursue teaching, so she obtained a Transition to Teaching certification and took her first teaching job at HCS in 2004. She remained here teaching art until 2017, when her family moved to Southern California for her husband’s job.

Several years later, Michelle is now back at Heritage and teaching Intro to 2D, Drawing, Painting, Portfolio, and AP 2D Art and Design. Many of the students she has now are students she’s had since elementary.

“It is so fun to be able to see how much they have grown in their art skills and to teach them on a different level,” she said. “They amaze me with their ideas and talent.”

Michelle and her family are eager to be back in the HCS community. She and her husband, Jason, have two adopted children in 7th and 1st grades. Aside from their time in California, their oldest has been attending Heritage since Pre-K.

“We have an amazing community at HCS and it really feels like home and ‘family’ here,” said Michelle.

At home, Michelle loves to cook, make art, garden, and spend time with her family and their beagle, Jazz.
