3rd Grade Teacher
This teacher came to Heritage first as a parent and only more recently joined the HCS family as a teacher. Susan Harris, an up-and-coming third grade teacher, first began her career with Heritage by substitute teaching then moved to part-time with prep-K students and now full time with the third grade.
Susan attended Indiana University Bloomington and got a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. After spending the first few years of college wondering what to do for a career, Susan says her choice to pursue being a teacher was “a true calling from God.”
And she says God is a large part of what she does in her classroom everyday. Not only does she teach a Godly worldview alongside every academic subject, but she feels like her work is “a ministry full of joy and hope amidst the time and energy that must be devoted.”
Susan is pictured above with her husband, Brent, and children (from left to right) Gretchen, Alec and Elaina.
