Allison (Roesener) Secaur
Class of 1991
Posted on August 27, 2018
Congratulations to Allison (Roesener) Secaur '91 on her new teaching position at Penn High School!
Allison has been teaching and accompanying for various schools in northern Indiana for over twenty years. She spent the last seven years teaching at Schmucker Middle School and acting as the festival coordinator for Circle the State with Song at Goshen College.
Allison and her husband Kenny attend Southside General Baptist Church in Mishawaka where they serve together on the praise team. Kenny plays the drums and Allison plays the piano.
Reflecting on her high school years at HCS, Allison says, "My most meaningful experience at Heritage was accompanying for the choir my senior year. Mr. John Lofton encouraged me, challenged me, and believed in me. If he had not provided me with this experience, I may not have had the courage to pursue accompanying and directing choirs as a profession. What a blessing it is now for me to have my own classroom where my role is to encourage students to make music and to work together. I pray that the Lord will use me to help the younger people He has placed in my life... just as He so graciously helped me through my HCS teachers. Thank you Alan Leinbach, Ruth Hubbard, Warren Pettitt, Dorothy Easterly, Dave Watt, Lynn Placeway, Laurinda Olsen/Meisner, and John Lofton. You all invested a little extra time in me and I am so grateful!"
