"God's hand was at work over several years preparing this opportunity for me", says Andrew Gonzales '08, about his position the Director of Pharmacy Services at HealthNet Community Health Centers.

Andrew graduated from Butler University with a PharmD degree and began working for a pharmacy chain. Not long after that, an old professor at Butler reached out to him with a unique opportunity. A physician acquaintance was looking for a pharmacist that may be interested in working for the local Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Indianapolis called HealthNet. This would be a first-of-its-kind position within HealthNet, and Andrew saw God at work as all the pieces fell into place for him to be offered the position.

He says that while in high school at Heritage he decided that he wanted to pursue something that would directly help others.

"I feel like the work I do significantly impacts and improves the operations of an organization whose purpose is to provide care for some of the most financially vulnerable people in our city," he says.

Andrew plans to continue his work at HealthNet where he sees a number of opportunities for improvement.
