Craig grew up in a manufacturing family and even worked at his family’s business, Kasco Manufacturing, before joining Subaru.

He says, “Growing up in a manufacturing family, and always liking math and science classes, I always new that I wanted to be an engineer. Between my junior and senior years at Heritage, I attended a summer program at Rose-Hulman, which I had not seriously considered as a potential school. After that summer, I was determined to go to Rose-Hulman and was fortunately able to do that.”

Craig said his high school math teacher, Mrs. Tonkinson, made a big impact on him that would eventually lead him to becoming an engineer, “She believed in me more than I did, and made math interesting and fun. One thing I will never forget was her advice to not test out of classes in college. She said those early classes are needed to learn how to study, take tests and be responsible for yourself in college. Of course, she was right.”
