Debbie (Reynolds) Driskell

Debbie (Reynolds) Driskell grew up in Fishers, Indiana while living on a farm her parents owned. As Fishers grew, Debbie found herself becoming a resource for residents looking for understanding regarding town ordinances and representation at town council meetings. Through those experiences, Debbie learned a lot about local government and decided she wanted to be more involved. In 1990, she was elected as the Delaware Township Trustee in Fishers. 

Debbie has since remained in her position, being re-elected each election cycle and has broadened her career by becoming a resource for other townships statewide. 

During her time as trustee, she’s become involved in state organization, which has led her to serving as the Executive Director for the Indiana Township Association. Her position requires regular public speaking as well as serving as a lobbyist for local government issues and organizing educational events for trustees from across the State.

Debbie says, “As township trustee, I enjoy having the ability to make a difference in the lives of people who are unable to meet their own personal, basic needs. I also enjoy the variety of other duties that come with the office of trustee. As Executive Director for the Indiana Township Association, it allows me the opportunity to make an impact state-wide on behalf of those we serve as trustees.”

Debbie attributes her 12 years at Heritage as a strong foundation for her current position. She says, “Heritage taught me the principles of being a good citizen and being community-minded. It also afforded me the opportunity to have a base of learning how to speak publicly and represent my beliefs and issues properly.”

Looking to the future, Debbie hopes to remain involved in Fishers as the Delaware Township Trustee and intends to seek re-election until retirement.
