Jeremy Nutter ('16) and his wife Maddie, recently accepted a position of House Parent at New Song Mission in southern Indiana. New Song Mission provides a nurturing, educational campus community where children live and receive love, guidance, and academic instruction in a family-like, Christian environment. Jeremy and Maddie will be house parents to girls ages 8-12.
Jeremy was familiar with New Song Mission through his church, where he'd volunteered on trips to the Mission when he was younger. Through his video production company, Jeremy was re-introduced to the Mission when he was hired to produce a video project for them.
Jeremy says, "The project laid the opportunity of house parenting on my wife's and I's hearts. God has used the past four years to give us various experiences and opportunities to prepare us to become house parents. A few months ago, we had no idea we would be doing this, but looking at the experiences we have had, God was preparing us for this."
Jeremy says having Godly examples in the teachers and coaches at Heritage impacted his life greatly and inspired him to seek opportunities to provide the same impact in the lives of children.
"It is an exciting opportunity to pour into the lives of disadvantaged kids and walk with them as they learn about Jesus and what He has done for them," he says.
Jeremy and Maddie begin their life at New Song Mission in just a few weeks and are looking forward to seeing God's plan in their life and the life of the students they will be leading.
