Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
In response to the current situation, we're pleased to announce the launching of Heritage Cares, a community-driven initiative to connect our community’s resources with our community’s needs.
One of the strongest bonds among Christ-followers is our desire to help others. It evidences itself in different ways through the mosaic of human personality. For some it is thoughtful obedience to Jesus’ teachings. Some are exercising a spiritual gift that joyfully compels them. Others seem to have been given spiritual eyeglasses with lenses that always see the world being full of opportunities for compassion and hope-giving. The Holy Spirit uses and nudges us in different ways. Our heavenly Father knows us.
Even within the family of faith, we know that the coronavirus creates uncertainty and fear. As a school we want to do all we can to respond to those feelings, the reality of financial uncertainty, and the many needs that have been created. We know some families have already been hit hard. Even as we were making plans for Heritage Cares, and in spite of those feelings, some in our community began asking, “How can I help?”
We’re not surprised. We have an amazing community.
How does Heritage Cares Impact and Engage You?
Heritage Cares is a platform for the Heritage community to share their needs and resources. It’s where you can get help and give. Areas where Heritage families could receive assistance include:
• Help with technology such as Wi-Fi access, device needs or tech support
• Childcare needs
• Food and household needs
• Assistance with tuition and school fees
• Connecting to resources through local Churches, ministries, community services and the government
To connect with the Heritage Cares program, click here and fill out the form. You can let us know your needs and also support the program with your financial gift or other support. We know that we cannot meet everyone’s needs, but we’ll do the best we can during this unique time. Our Heritage Discipleship Team, headed by Becky Stowers, Discipleship Director, will be leading this important initiative.
What’s the Current Financial Need?
Many of you have already reached out with questions regarding financial needs. We know we are in an ever-evolving situation, but we believe it’s helpful to be specific at a time like this. We have many families that will struggle to make their April Heritage tuition payment. In this initial phase of Heritage Cares, financial gifts will go to assist struggling families, helping them pay outstanding April tuition and fees, and providing vital additional academic support where needed. Click here to give a financial gift right now.
Note: There is no tuition payment in May as we begin transitioning to 2020/21 year school financing.
We also want to let you know that in the past few days we have made a commitment to all of our employees (full-time, part-time, hourly and salaried) to ensure regular pay during our season of distance learning. Our own employee community has been impacted and we want to do all we can to ensure continuity for all of our worthy servants. Your gift to Heritage Cares helps reduce the financial hardship that the school will experience if the current situation continues for an extended period.
Your gift to Heritage Cares provides a win-win-win for the school, our employees, and our families needing help.
