DISCIPLESHIP
At Heritage Christian School, discipleship is not a single program or event but an ongoing process woven into the fabric of school life. It is our desire that every student be faithfully nurtured to know Christ deeply, live for Him wholeheartedly, and impact the world for His glory.
Discipleship is central to our mission and identity at HCS. We define discipleship as the intentional, relational, and cooperative process that leads students to commit their lives to follow Jesus Christ, grow in their faith, and be continually transformed to reflect His character.
We engage in discipleship because Scripture commands it (Matthew 28:19–20), because it glorifies God (John 15:8), and because it is for the good of others, particularly the next generation. Our commitment is to faithfully guide students toward a life shaped by the gospel and rooted in biblical truth.

Early Childhood & Elementary School
Preschool - Grade 4
Discipleship in our early childhood and elementary programs happens both in and out of the classroom. Our faculty and staff integrate the Bible into every aspect of learning, helping children understand God’s truth and grow spiritually from a young age.

Intermediate & Middle School
Grades 5-8
As students become more independent, our goal is to teach, mentor, and train them to think biblically, lead with humility, and understand their part in God’s story. Discipleship at this stage helps them connect truth to daily life.

High School
Grades 9-12
In high school, we walk alongside students as they pursue a lifelong faith in Jesus Christ. Through mentoring, teaching, and leadership opportunities, we help students deepen their understanding of Scripture and articulate their beliefs in a world that often challenges them.

In a world that is constantly telling our kids that life is all about living for oneself, we need to teach and empower our students to live differently for the glory of God above all else.
