Girls Basketball Team Wins Sectionals in Quadruple Overtime Thriller

Our Lady Eagles basketball team defeated Bishop Chatard 53-46 on Saturday in a quadruple overtime thriller in the girls basketball sectional championship!

Heritage jumped out to an early 8 point lead at the end of the 1st quarter only to see the Trojans come storming back. Chatard dominated the 2nd quarter, which saw them with a 6 point halftime lead. The Eagles found themselves down by 10 early in the 3rd quarter before mounting a comeback and tying the game late in the 4th.

Each overtime period saw several back and forth moments that were nail-biting. Heritage was able to get a lead when Ari Wiggins hit a baseline jumper to push the Eagles in front in the 4th overtime period. Clutch free throws by Sydney Watkins and Tyranny Brown sealed the win and brought the sectional title to the Eagles.

Heritage will move on to the Greencastle regional where they will take on the winner of the Danville sectional on Saturday, February 15th at noon.
