2021-22 Spiritual Theme: Walk Worthy

The annual spiritual theme is a springboard for classroom conversation, our athletics teams, and clubs. From our preschool students to high school seniors, the theme unites our students around a common idea that’s grounded in spiritual truth.

Walk Worthy

Walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.

Each year, the discipleship staff, students, and the leadership team work together to select the theme for the upcoming school year. For the 2021-22 school year, the spiritual theme is Walk Worthy.

In Colossians, Paul the apostle, prays for the brothers and sisters in Christ to “walk worthy” of their commitment to follow Jesus. He prays that their words, thoughts and actions would be pleasing to God and that they would continue to grow in their knowledge of Him.  

There are many things that distract us and compete for our attention – personal goals, expectations of others, sinful desires, and pressures of the world. Yet, we know that we are called to live differently – to “walk worthy”. Through Christ we are equipped to overcome sin and the temptations of the world. When we walk worthy, we are able to discern what is pleasing to God, know how to love others well, and desire to know God better.

As we begin a new school year at Heritage Christian School, it is our prayer that our Heritage community, because of their personal faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to follow God’s Word, that we too, will walk worthy of the Lord.
