HCS 3rd Grade Class Receives Thank You Note From Afghanistan

HCS 3rd Grade Class Receives Thank You Note From Afghanistan

Posted on November 28, 2018

On Veterans Day, many of our students wrote letters of thanks and encouragement to servicemen and women. Today, 3rd grade teacher Susan Harris and her classroom received a response from Lieutenant Colonel Myles Perry, who is stationed in Afghanistan.

Lieutenant Colonel Myles Perry

"Mrs. Harris' class sent us a lovely photo and letters from students thanking us for our service here in Afghanistan.

It is always an honor and a privilege to serve...and we are the ones who are thankful to have the support of such fine young people (and teachers!).

I thought they might appreciate a picture as a way of showing that their letters arrived and brightened our days. You can see one such letter posted above our "Morale table", where we place things sent for the benefit of our Soldiers. I wish I could say the goofball in the foreground was someone else, but I was never able to lie to my teachers.

Thank you so much for your support and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!"

Please leave your thanks for Lieutenant Colonel Perry and his soldiers in the comments. We will include Facebook comments in our next letter!
