Longtime HCS Employee, Al Leinbach, Honored at Special Event

Longtime HCS Employee, Al Leinbach, Honored at Special Event

Posted on June 15, 2022

We had a very special event on Friday, June 10 at which we honored Al Leinbach and his 56 years of service to HCS and Christian education.

Al joined Heritage in 1966, and with a mission-minded servant heart for his students and community, served as a teacher, coach, and High School Principal. He continues to serve as the school's alumni relations coordinator.

At last Friday's event, over 200 alumni, staff, friends, and family joined us in the elementary gym to surprise Al and Donna Leinbach with well-deserved recognition. Former Head of School, Jim Weaver, presented Al with the Sagamore of the Wabash award - the highest Indiana state honor, and HCS Board Chair, Scott Schneider, announced the naming of our main stadium field to now be "Al Leinbach Field." In addition, a representative from Congresswoman Victoria Spartz's office read a congressional proclamation honoring Al.

Hosted by Dr. Eric Duncan (HCS '72), many HCS alumni from the classes of 1967-73 were in attendance.
