HCS Student Gives Presentation at VEX Robotics "Girl Powered" Event

HCS Student Gives Presentation at VEX Robotics "Girl Powered" Event

Posted on October 12, 2019

VEX Robotics "Girl Powered" held an event on Friday, October 11 with TechPoint Foundation for Youth to provide an opportunity for elementary, middle and high school girls to network with each other and learn from female mentors in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Additionally, girls at the event who were new to robotics got to learn about strategies to build, program and compete with their robots.

Our very own Lauren Meyers, HCS junior, gave a presentation at the event! Lauren is a member of Heritage's VEX VRC Robotics team 6210X. In her presentation, she taught the girls at the event about coding their robots. Lauren also sat on the discussion panel at the end of the evening regarding challenges women face in STEM fields and how those challenges can be overcome.
