Emily Smith

1st Grade Teacher

Emily Smith joined our 1st grade team during the 2021-22 school year. She grew up helping in her mom’s classroom, at clubs, and in camps. These experiences caused her to develop a love for teaching at a young age!

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Grace College, Emily knew she wanted to work at a private Christian school. “When I was asking friends and family for recommendations on where to apply, Heritage was almost always the first one they would recommend,” Emily said. “I love the Christ centered focus, and the community atmosphere here. I’ve only been a part of the faculty for a couple of months, but I already feel like family!”

Emily plans on filling her classroom with conversations about Jesus. “I will speak openly about God’s Word and how He is working in my life, and I will encourage students to do the same,” she said. She wants to point them towards Christ through her actions and words, praying they will come into a saving relationship with Him.

In Emily’s spare time, she’s connecting with friends, family, or her church community. She also loves to read, draw, and cook! Make sure to ask Emily about her mom...she’s a children’s book author!
