High School Assistant Principal
After a 20-year career in higher education, Mrs. Kirsten (formerly Gibbs) Swingle transitioned to a new environment when she joined the HCS Discipleship team in 2014. Today, Mrs. Swingle is the High School Assistant Principal and also serves on Leadership Team.
“I love the partnership between classroom education and personal and spiritual development of the student,” she said.
Mrs. Swingle graduated from Cedarville University with a BA in Elementary Education, then stuck around her alma mater to work in student development for 20 years. In that time, she earned her master’s in Administration from Central Michigan University.
What Swingle most loves about her current role at Heritage is supporting the teachers and serving as a sounding board for their ideas. She also takes much joy in encouraging and intentionally discipling the students.
“Sometimes the most significant growth in students comes through difficult times,” she said, “and so I also love walking that path with them in a way that points them to Jesus.”
Mrs. Swingle is a newlywed as of this summer! She met her husband through a former coworker here at HCS.
“What an unexpected blessing it has been for both of us to be married for the first time at 47 years of age,” she said.
