Molly Straka

5th Grade Instructional Aide

Molly Straka is our newest 5th grade Instructional Aide. Molly has been a Heritage parent for years and is excited to now be in the classroom. Before becoming a mom to her two children, Elyse and Jay, Molly taught 4th grade for two years and 3rd grade for eight years in Cincinnati. She has a Bachelor's in Education from Miami University and a Masters in Literacy from the University of Cincinnati.

Molly and her family ended up at Heritage in part because her husband, Joe, attended Heritage through 8th grade.

“We were living in Cincinnati and starting to scope out schools for our daughter,” said Molly. “I remember my husband saying, ‘I wish there was a school more like Heritage here.’”

When Joe’s job moved them back to Indianapolis, the Strakas knew they’d want to send their kids to Heritage. “We feel so blessed to have our kids at this school and for our kids to have so many of the same teachers as my husband did,” she said.

Molly is excited to be back in the classroom, though this time not as the primary teacher.

“I love that I can apply my experience and gifts as a former teacher as I support the students and teachers, BUT I get to leave my work at the end of the school day!” she said.

Molly and her family love to travel and are planning their next trip to Israel in the spring. They also love all things Disney and Star Wars, as evidenced by their dog’s name - Chewie-bacca!
