2022-23 THEATER SEASON THEME
The theme for the 2022 HCS Theatre season is “Ordinary Miracles.” Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we lose sight of the miraculous all around us. By doing two productions (a musical and a play) that correspond with this theme, we hope to remind the audience and cast members alike of the everyday endless wonders.
Our theme verse of this year, Job 9:10, says, “He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.” We are praying that God guides this year and that He be glorified in all that we say and do.
ABOUT THE STORY
What would you do if you had all eternity? Eleven-year-old Winnie Foster yearns for a life of adventure beyond her white picket fence, but not until she becomes unexpectedly entwined with the Tuck Family does she get more than she could have imagined. When Winnie learns of the magic behind the Tuck’s unending youth, she must fight to protect their secret from those who would do anything for a chance at eternal life. As her adventure unfolds, Winnie faces an extraordinary choice: return to her life, or continue with the Tucks on their infinite journey.
All humans have choices to make. As Christians, we have clear guidelines that show us the best way to live in community and in relation to God’s plan for our lives. Throughout the preparation and presentation of the musical, we will discuss the themes of eternity, choosing the narrow versus the wide path, happiness versus contentment, and determining God’s purpose for our lives as the characters in Tuck Everlasting deal with these themes.
Tickets to this event are available through pre-order only.
We ask that when purchasing tickets, please be considerate of others who will want to come to support family and friends in the musical. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the fall production. We are so proud of the HCS theatre students who are working hard to create a show that will bring joy to all who watch.
Tickets will go on sale starting Friday, October 14.
