HCS Data Management Update #4

Posted on March 21, 2019

MyHCS: A Single Login to the Heritage World

Frustrated by too many login requirements for too many databases and online resources? Our new system will provide a single login to access all your Heritage info. From this single login, you will be able to see the administrative, financial, extra-curricular, event and calendar information that is customized for your family and is organized and presented by our Veracross SIS (Student Information System), as well as seeing all of your student’s classroom and academic information via a click-through to Canvas, our new LMS (Learning Management System).

The single login will replace current login requirements into HCS Connect (for accessing updating family information), Net Classroom (for information on grades and academic info, lunch purchases and billing), Moodle (our current LMS with assignment and grade info), Net Community (for student enrollment processing), and event attendance, volunteer signup and activity registration often done through separate tools and applications not connected to any Heritage database.

Current login and signup requirements such as these will be replaced.

Current Heritage Logins

In our new systems, you will be able to access virtually all of your information and engagement with Heritage through this single login.

New MyHCS Login

On a mobile phone.

Mobile Login

As previously mentioned, our new systems will be entirely responsive to whatever device you are using. This is important at a time when the majority of people use their smart phones for virtually all of their communications.

We have now, internally, “gone live” with our data and are continuing the process of merging duplicate records from multiple databases and cleaning up records. In addition to cleanup and duplicate identification we can do through system tools, we will also want all of our families to provide an update to their current student and family information so that we move forward with the best data possible. We will be requesting family info updates starting May 1.

A full rollout of the new system will occur over the summer as we look forward to starting the new school year with new information management in place. Stay tuned to this weekly update as we count down to our new and improved systems.
