Why are you involved with PTF?
I am involved with PTF first and foremost because I love our school! Heritage is an amazing place full of amazing people who teach and love on our kids. I want to help out and give back and PTF offers amazing ways to do just that. A very close second is that I want to get to know the community at Heritage - other families, teachers, administrators. Heritage feels like an extended family to us, so I want to be as involved as I possibly can.
What is your favorite PTF event?
Wow - there are so many! I would say my favorite this year was Blessing Gifts at our PTF Coffees. During our time together every other month, those who come to the Coffees participated in putting together little gifts for the entire staff of Heritage (200+). As a group we would chat and put together little encouragements that we would then put in staff mailboxes. We heard over and over again how these little gifts brought smiles and brightened days to those who work at Heritage. I loved being part of that!
What is your favorite HCS memory?
Our family moved away for about 2 1/2 years. Before we left, we felt an outpouring of love from our boys' teachers, classmates and the families we had gotten to know. While it was hard to leave, it was so special to feel loved, prayed for and wished luck in our adventure. My oldest son's teacher did so much to help with our transition (he was very shy and anxious about the move). This incredible teacher even wrote to him and remained in contact with us after we moved. She truly showed us what it meant to be loved on! We were so excited to be back home and come back to Heritage.
Why should other parents consider being involved with PTF?
We all have chosen to send our kids to this amazing school - why wouldn't you want to get involved? Whether it's once a year or once a week, PTF has so many things to be involved with. Everyone's help is needed - and you might make a few new friends while you're at it!
