Preschool

Students explore God’s creation using their five senses through hands-on investigations and discovery. Curiosity is encouraged as children observe, ask questions, experiment, and engage in meaningful exploration throughout the year.

Through age-appropriate lessons in history, geography, and community awareness, children begin developing a sense of identity, belonging, and heritage while learning how they fit into God’s world.

Preschool students participate in art, music, movement and literature experiences called "specials."  These specialized areas of instruction are an integral part of our curriculum and support creativity, physical development, and a growing love of learning.

Art 
Preschool students learn to draw upon personal experiences as well as their imagination as a basis for their art. They work with a variety of materials and art tools in planned projects and free expression lessons. The process and experience is more important than the final product at this age.

Music
Preschool students are introduced to music through singing, creative movement, instrument playing, and listening. A variety of styles of music are introduced and used to enhance early learning and development.

Movement 
Preschool students are given the opportunity to exercise their bodies learning to listen, follow directions and participate in activities that strengthen their large motor skills. 

Literature 
Preschool students expand their vocabulary, strengthen listening and comprehension abilities, and develop early print awareness through shared reading, storytelling, and exposure to many different types of literature. Positive early experiences with books foster a love of reading and set the stage for academic success.
