Academics & Curriculum Overview

Heritage Christian High School is a National Blue Ribbon School recognized for academic excellence and Christ-centered education. We have consistently been named to the Advanced Placement (AP) School Honor Roll and are currently ranked third in the State of Indiana for SAT performance among schools with 100 or more test-takers.

At Heritage, rigorous academics and biblical worldview are not competing priorities. They are intentionally integrated. Our college-preparatory program challenges students intellectually while grounding their learning in truth. We believe excellence in education is one way we glorify God.

STEM in High School

STEM learning at Heritage High School emphasizes real-world application and hands-on problem-solving. Through structured coursework, students apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in meaningful, practical ways while developing analytical thinking and technical skills.

Heritage offers engineering and computer science courses through Project Lead the Way (PLTW), along with Advanced Placement computer science courses that introduce students to engineering design, programming, and computational thinking.

The Media & Innovation Center (MIC) serves as the hub for STEM learning and is the home base for engineering, computer science, and our championship robotics program. Equipped with specialized tools, technology, and collaborative workspaces, the MIC supports applied learning through design, experimentation, and problem-solving.

Interterm

Interterm is a required component of the high school program that provides grade-level experiences focused on personal growth, exploration, and real-world learning.

  • Freshmen and sophomores participate in college visits, community service opportunities, and a discipleship retreat.
  • Juniors complete a week-long internship experience, shadowing a career field of interest.
  • Seniors participate in a memorable week-long trip to upstate New York.

This unique experience complements our academic program, further preparing students for meaningful success after graduation.

Educational Support Services

Heritage recognizes that students learn in different ways and may benefit from additional academic support. At the high school level, Educational Support Services are designed to help students access the curriculum while building independence, organization, and effective learning habits.

Support may include structured academic assistance, skill-building support, accommodations, and collaboration between support staff and classroom teachers. These services are designed to maintain academic expectations while helping students take responsibility for their learning and engage more effectively with high school coursework. ESS services are provided based on documented needs and in partnership with families.
