With a career spanning teaching, ministry, and leadership, Nate brings a passion for discipleship and a deep love for God’s Word to his classroom.

Elena wants students to understand that learning another language expands the heart as much as the mind, believing the world needs young people who listen well and lead with love and understanding.

By connecting learning to God’s creation, Jen consistently points students back to the Lord and lays a foundation for both academic growth and spiritual formation.

Kayla is deeply intentional about relationships. She strives to truly know each of her students, believing that trust and connection create space for meaningful growth.

Elizabeth supports students as they develop organization, accountability, and independent study skills that extend well beyond the classroom.

When Jennifer stepped into a Heritage classroom as a 5-year-old, she had no idea she’d one day spend decades teaching here, but God was already writing her story.

Maddie is intentional about shaping her students in two areas she believes reflect the heart of a believer: gratitude and hard work.

Teaching, for Abby, isn’t just a profession, it’s a calling God placed on her heart early in life, one she’s grateful to live out every day.

Melissa teaches Library, Movement, and STEM as part of the Early Childhood Specials program at Heritage.

Caleb’s faith is the foundation of his work, shaping his approach to discipline, learning, and human flourishing.

“In my classroom I strive to make each student feel seen, known, and loved; and to use the fascinating field of chemistry to point my kids to our incredible, omniscient, omnipotent creator.”

Matt brings a wealth of experience to his role at HCS along with a passion for teaching personal finance through the lens of biblical stewardship.

“God has placed on my heart the desire to inspire our youngest students to have a growth mindset and a love of reading.”

One moment that has stayed with Laken came when a student told her that studying rhetorical analysis in her class had helped them better understand Scripture.

Michelle hopes to impact the students at Heritage by helping them learn about and mature in their walk with Jesus before they head off on their own.

“I believe in the value of the athletic experience in a young person's life and realized early in my career that I wanted to teach and coach."

He walked these halls as a student. Now he’s teaching in them! Seth is a proud Heritage alum, following in his dad’s footsteps to impact students’ lives.

Diann loves the dynamic energy of high ability students. “When a group of students are surrounded by their intellectual peers, they feed off of each other in a positive way like iron sharpening iron.”

Lisa is especially passionate about helping students develop a strong foundation of faith during these formative years.

“I strive to allow my students to be loved and known. I also work to help them discover how God designed them to learn best. Every lesson is differentiated to accommodate each student’s specific need.”

For Michelle, teaching is more than a career—it’s a reflection of God’s faithfulness in her life.

Tim sees his role as an opportunity to lead by example. “I strive to model Christ. Just as Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:1. I want to be an example of Christ to my students, so they can do the same.”

In her classroom, Kimberly strives to help each child grasp “just how deeply Jesus loves them—far more than we could ever imagine.”

Janice's commitment to faith is evident in the way she chooses items for the library with intentional care. “My faith walk informs how I select books and materials for the library.”

“I want to show my students who Jesus is and let them know that they are purposefully and wonderfully made."

“When a student opens class in prayer and thanks God for a school where they can grow closer to Him, it’s both a weighty responsibility and an enormous blessing.”

Juliana cherishes the incredible growth that happens in Kindergarten—both academically and spiritually. “It is so sweet to see them learn more about the Lord, how to read, use numbers, and much more!”

“I love my students! You have not experienced life and laughter until you've spent a day with 7th graders."

“In my classroom, I strive to bring history to life and integrate biblical truth into the lessons and facts from the past. I want my students to recognize that God is in control of all things past, present, and future...”

“It’s such a privilege to teach the Bible to kindergartners. Many of the stories are new to them, and they often don’t know when a miracle is going to happen. I’ve had classes clap and cheer when they hear what God has done!”

Audra's ultimate goal is for each student to leave her classroom knowing, they have been created for a purpose and are unique and capable of being creative in their own way.

“My most important job is to help students see the hand of the Creator in everything they see in nature, and to glorify Him for it.”

Abi creates a safe and joyful space where students can discover their talents, embrace mistakes, and develop a love for learning.

Lynn delights in fostering the early development of her young students. “I absolutely love it! I love their enthusiasm, their wonder over the littlest things, and the sincere love they give back."

Katy strives to help students develop a love for reading, believing that reading is a special gift from God.

Sabrina's passion for British literature, combined with her faith, allows her to teach in a way that is both engaging and transformative.

“I strive to show that everything is ‘figure-out-able.’ We can always seek solutions to each problem we are met with rather than shutting down and giving up.”

Kim incorporates her faith into her daily work. “It is a true privilege to get to know the students and families at Heritage. I pray for them daily and ask the Lord to guide me in each interaction.”
 

Caleb believes that life’s complexities demand that each moment in the classroom be “God-inspired and God-empowered,” a mindset he seeks to embody and model for his students.

Kathryn describes her role as more than just teaching; it’s about building a foundation of love and faith. “In my classroom at HCS, I strive to help every child feel loved and to know they can rely on Jesus at all times."

Rick's goal is to create an engaging environment where students grow not only academically but also spiritually, in their relationships with each other and with God.

Erin encourages her students to stay curious, explore big questions, and engage in authentic discussions. Her goal is to serve students and their families by providing an excellent education rooted in a biblical worldview.

"Both history and economics can have many difficult topics, so I try to discuss these with openness and honesty, while making sure we talk about how God wants us to view others."

In her classroom, Amy strives to create an environment where students feel loved, are encouraged, and develop a genuine love of learning, all while growing in their relationship with Christ.

Caroline strives to create an environment where students feel comfortable to learn, make mistakes, and grow in Christ with one another.

In her classroom, Jaima strives "to create a safe, loving environment where students are known, valued, and challenged, while also guiding them to understand Christ’s love for them."

In her classroom, Faith strives to “encourage a lifelong love of both Christ and learning through the study of literature.” She believes that fostering this love is crucial for students to live in truth and obedience to the Lord.

Kendra is passionate about integrating her faith with her work, using vocal singing as a means of discipleship. She hopes to help students grow in their understanding of scripture through the powerful lyrics they sing together.

In his classroom, he strives to teach young men and women that God is the creator of all. "Society seems to believe that a belief in God is contrary to scientific thought, when in fact the opposite is true. I hope to help our students carry this truth with them throughout their lives."

Bethany has a theme verse prominently displayed in her classroom and incorporates a "Weekly I Am Challenge," encouraging students to reflect on their identity in Christ through their artwork. "I try to encourage Biblical themes in their discussion and expression of art."

Embracing Heritage as a platform for ministry, Ambrose integrates faith seamlessly into his teaching and coaching practices. He views each interaction with students as an opportunity to embody Christianity in action, offering support, prayer, and guidance as needed.

As she works with HCS students, Elana wants to bring visual arts to life for them. She hopes that students feel refreshed and confident that they can make artwork for the Glory of the Lord.

In her classroom, Karen helps her students connect biology with the Creator of the universe. “I want them to see that God designed it all so perfectly that you can see His handprint in everything.”

In her role at Heritage, Rachel strives to expand God’s kingdom through the gifts He has given her as an educator.

In his classroom, Mr. Schantz wants students to be both knowledgeable and thoughtful writers – a concept he refers to as “deep thinking.”

In her classroom, Rachel strives to help students find confidence in themselves and their abilities. “I want students to love stories and see the beauty in the power of word.”

In her classroom, Reyna strives to model what it means to live a Christ-centered life. She works each day to show students how to be more Christ-like through our words and actions.

In the classroom, Bailey shows her students the beauty of other cultures and languages. “We can all learn so much about the Lord through learning about the other people He has created around the world.”

Eric uses science to show students God’s amazing creation and character. “I want to point students to a real, vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus."

“I want my students to see the Lord’s hand in all that they do and know that they are known and loved by Him. Learning about Jesus is the most important aspect of school.”

Bryan hopes to help Heritage students develop a life-long desire to learn and make learning fun.

In the classroom, Grant strives to be a positive male role model for all students – something that he believes the world needs more of today.

Elissa centers the lessons in her classroom around the Gospel. Every class includes time in Scripture. Elissa says she teaches her students biblical concepts like the fruit of the Spirit by “engaging in discussions about Jesus and pointing them to Christ through each and every subject.”

As a teacher, Cheraimee hopes her students know it’s okay to make mistakes while learning, and this spirit of grace and patience makes her classroom a welcoming place.

Julia hopes that her students see their potential, and she wants each of them to know they can trust her. “Trusting in leadership is the key to feeling safe in every way—physically safe, safe to make mistakes, safe to ask questions, and safe to share information."

Krista is committed to combining her experience, love for music, and passion for God to encourage her students and the teachers in her department.

Angie is very passionate about the younger generation, and she is excited to see what God will do through them. She puts God first in everything she does, and that is evident in her classroom.

Kirsten loves being with her students all day. Their creative, funny, and inquisitive minds challenge her to think in new and different ways. She supports her students by nurturing their interests and guiding them toward opportunities that ultimately glorify God.

Kelly’s classroom is full of encouraging relationships, intentional discipleship, creativity, and fun. She believes there is value in knowing her students individually to provide them the academic and spiritual instruction they need at their own personal level.

Debra is very passionate about our youngest students. She loves the joy and excitement they have for life. She also understands the importance of being a good leader and teaching with a biblical worldview.

Riley has always had a passion for working with students. “I want students to enjoy math more than they did when they walked in my class at the beginning of the year."

Along with teaching Spanish culture and language, Esta also has a passion for discipleship. “I pray for them and with them. You come to Heritage to go to school but you leave having inherited a whole family.”

Lesley aims to mentor and uplift her students in times of struggle and to celebrate with them in times of joy. Her classroom is a fun and engaging environment where the Bible is incorporated into each topic.

In her classroom, Emily is dedicated to fostering conversations about Jesus. She openly shares how God is working in her life and encourages her students to do the same.

Tae is passionate about getting to know her students and showing them love and care. She is dedicated to helping them grow both academically and spiritually. She looks forward to seeing her students develop into Christ-followers, ready to make a difference in the world.
