Catherine Curry
Kindergarten Teacher

Meet Catherine Curry, one of our dedicated Kindergarten teachers at Heritage Christian School. Ms. Curry’s passion for teaching began at an early age, as she would organize lessons for her dolls and stuffed animals. However, it wasn’t until she trusted Christ as her Savior in college that she felt a clear calling to pursue teaching in a Christian school.
With 30 years of experience at HCS and a total of 35 years in education, Ms. Curry has seen God’s faithfulness throughout her career. She strives to show her students that they are priceless treasures in God’s eyes, saying, “Because of Jesus, we can do hard things, whether that’s loving a difficult person, choosing joy, or learning something new.”
One of her cherished traditions is starting each school year by giving thanks for each student by name in prayer. “I explain that Jesus chose each one of them especially for me this year,” she shares. At home, she keeps a jar of stones—one for each student she has taught—totaling 818 stones, as a reminder of God’s provision and faithfulness over the years.
When asked about her favorite aspect of teaching, Ms. Curry says, “It’s such a privilege to teach the Bible to kindergartners. Many of the stories are new to them, and they often don’t know when a miracle is going to happen. I’ve had classes clap and cheer when they hear what God has done!”
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Curry enjoys reading, crafting, spending time with family, and sharing stories about her beloved pets. A fun fact about Ms. Curry is that she knows of eight married couples who first met in her kindergarten class!
We are grateful to have Ms. Curry as a valuable member of the Heritage Christian School community!
