Jessica Krause

High School Geography and History Teacher

For Jessica Krause, teaching history is an opportunity to help students see more than dates, places, and events. As Heritage Christian School’s High School Geography and History of the World teacher, she wants students to recognize God’s sovereignty throughout the story of the world.

“In my classroom at HCS, I strive to bring history to life to help students understand how the Lord's sovereign hand has been in every single detail throughout history!”

Jessica earned her degree in Secondary Social Studies Education from Grace College, but her desire to become a teacher began much earlier.

“As a child I always wanted to be a teacher!” she said. During her freshman year of college, she found herself thinking back to an AP U.S. History class she had especially loved.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the discussions and how the teachers made history come to life,” Jessica said. That experience helped her recognize the Lord’s call to bring together two of her passions: history and education.

At Heritage, Jessica incorporates faith into her classroom through weekly devotionals, Scripture memory, prayer, and praise requests. She also sees the relationships she builds with students as an important part of discipleship.

“I believe forming relationships with students is a great way to have discussions about what Jesus has done for us and how to dive deeper into His Word!”

Jessica already had a special connection to Heritage before joining the high school faculty. Her husband, Riley, has served at HCS for five years as a 7th grade math teacher. Hearing how much he enjoyed his colleagues, students, and work at Heritage made Jessica excited to become part of the school community herself.

“We are so excited to get to be able to impact the next generation for the Kingdom of Christ!”

Jessica and Riley were married on July 4, 2026, America’s 250th birthday. They enjoy traveling to see family, spending time with their church community, watching movies, going for walks, and driving to school together each morning.

Running is another important part of Jessica’s life. She ran competitively in college, has completed several half marathons, and now serves as Heritage’s middle school cross country coach. She especially enjoys helping young athletes develop their own love for running.

As she begins her role at Heritage, Jessica is looking forward to “bringing the work of Jesus into the history classroom and helping young high schoolers dive into the gifts the Lord has given them to glorify Him.”

We are grateful to have Jessica as part of the Heritage faculty and thankful for the enthusiasm, faith, and passion for students she brings to our community.
