Lindsay Alger
High School Teacher

Lindsay Alger has been shaping young minds at Heritage Christian School since 2011, where she currently teaches AP World History, AP Macro/Microeconomics, and Economics to high school students. From an early age, Lindsay knew she wanted to be a teacher, and her passion for history was sparked in middle school by an inspiring history teacher. When she moved to Indiana, she felt God placing a calling on her heart to serve at Heritage, starting as a volleyball coach and later as an assistant athletic director before stepping into her dream role as a teacher.
Lindsay earned her degree in History Education with an emphasis in Economics from Lee University in Cleveland, TN. She also pursued minors in Business and Bible, which have enriched her approach to teaching both history and economics through a biblical worldview. In her classroom, Lindsay strives to help her students understand the world around them with the lens of faith, sharing, "Both history and economics can have many difficult topics, so I try to discuss these with openness and honesty, while making sure we talk about how God wants us to view others."
What Lindsay loves most about her work at Heritage Christian is the relationships she builds with both students and colleagues. She deeply values her coworkers and cherishes becoming a mentor to former students, especially as they navigate college life.
Outside of school, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband Jonny, who is a director at Indy Premier Soccer Club, and their three children, all of whom attend Heritage. In her free time, she loves reading, thrifting, decorating, and refinishing furniture. She and her family also breed golden doodles and golden retrievers!
