Elementary Discipleship Coordinator

Lisa Huff

Lisa Huff joined the Heritage family last year as our high school guidance counselor, bringing with her a wealth of experience spanning over 30 years in education and ministry, including roles as an elementary teacher, principal, children’s ministry leader, and hospital chaplain. This year, she embraces a new chapter as our Elementary Discipleship Coordinator, using her diverse background to nurture our youngest learners’ faith.

“I truly believe God is pulling all of my life experiences together to equip me to serve in this very specific role in discipleship,” Lisa shares.

One of Lisa’s greatest joys is elementary chapel. “I LOVE elementary chapel! I can hardly wait to hear our kids raising their voices together in praise to God! You might just see a tear or two down my cheek when our kids start to sing. Children are uninhibited and authentic when they worship.”

In her new role, Lisa is especially passionate about helping students develop a strong foundation of faith during these formative years. “By 5th grade, a child has developed his/her basic worldview for life,” she explains. “It is critical that our influence on young children leads them to know who Jesus is and who they are in Him.”

She also hopes her office will be a source of encouragement to families. “Parenting is HARD! I want my office to be an open and inviting place where parents can freely come for prayer and support. I’m here to listen, to pray, to laugh, and to cry with you, and hopefully offer some godly wisdom from my experience as a teacher, principal, mom, and Grammy.”

When she’s not at school, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband, three sons, daughters-in-law, and ten grandchildren.

We’re thankful for the heart, experience, and vision Lisa will bring to our elementary discipleship efforts this year.
