Will Chivington
STEM Teacher for Grades 5-7

Meet Will Chivington, one of our talented STEM teachers for grades 5–7 at Heritage Christian School. After spending most of his career in the banking industry and 14 years as a youth leader at his church, Will felt a strong calling to work with students full-time. “Throughout that time, God put it heavily on my heart that my time was to be spent with students, and I finally heeded that call.”
Will holds a Bachelor’s of General Studies with a minor in Graphic Arts and Digital Publishing from Ball State University. In his classroom, he emphasizes perseverance and problem-solving. “I strive to show that everything is ‘figure-out-able.’ We can always seek solutions to each problem we are met with rather than shutting down and giving up.”
Faith is central to Will’s approach at HCS. “I pray each and every day that God gives me His eyes and helps me love the students the way He does. I strive to encourage them daily to become a better version of themselves.” He loves building relationships with students and helping them grow in their faith. “Getting to know students on a deeper level and fostering their relationship with Jesus through discipleship is one of the most rewarding parts of my role.”
Will has a special connection to Heritage: his wife is a 2005 graduate and “Heritage lifer”, and their children also attend school here.
In his free time, Will is passionate about 3D printing and enjoys making creative and funny projects. He also loves playing board and card games with friends and is an avid disc golf player. A fun fact? Will once won a “game show” at the National Youth Workers Convention, beating out over 1,500 attendees and earning a free cruise to the Bahamas!
We are blessed to have Will at Heritage, inspiring our students to solve problems, grow in their faith, and pursue excellence in STEM.
